Chevy Spark EV’s Price Below $20,000 After Tax Credits

General Motors will value its new Chevrolet Spark electric car at $27,495. The price will include destination charges and tax credits. This makes the Chevy Spark one of the most affordable EVs on the market today.

GM said that it maintained the price at less than $20,000 after application of the tax credit. The carmaker also offers a $199 per month, 36-month lease with $999 down, going head-to-head with Fiat 500e. The Chevy Spark EV will hit markets in California and Oregon by the middle of June. Other electric cars include the Fiat 500e ($33,200), Nissan Leaf ($29,500), and Mitsubishi i-MiEV ($29,975). Destination charges are also included in the prices.

The Chevy Spark EV will have the equivalent of 119 mpg in two driving modes and a range of 82 miles. A representative from GM said the company will think about selling the Spark EV in other markets after the company formally launches it.
